"Chronicles of Kunzangling Higher Secondary School: A Journey Through Time"

Kunzangling Higher Secondary School, established in 2016 and situated in the lower part of Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag under the Tongmijangsa Gewog, is envisioned to be a beacon of knowledge, fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people in the region. Nestled on the gentle slope of Kunzangling and facing Ramjar Geowg, the school commands a majestic presence at an elevation of 1500 meters above sea level. It is located approximately 14 kilometers away from the historically significant site of སྒོམ་ཕུག་སྐྱིད་པའི་གླིང་། Gomphukepiling, (Gomphu Kora) held in high reverence. The school campus spans an expansive 21 acres.

The official signing of documents and subsequent transfer of responsibility for the school transpired between our Ministry and M/s Singye Construction Private Limited on the 28th of December, 2015.

Construction commenced on the 17th of January, 2011, with a budget of Nu. 145,792,480/- provided by the Government of India (GoI). The completion of the project was not without its challenges, spanning nearly six long years. The school boasts a total of twelve spacious classrooms, along with an integrated administration block that houses the school office, library, staff room, conference hall, and restroom facilities.

Furthermore, the school comprises two hostels with a capacity of 120 beds each for boys, and an additional hostel accommodating 180 beds for girls. A full-sized multipurpose hall, a dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen cater to the school’s culinary needs. In addition to this, two sets of four-unit staff quarters are provided, along with a dedicated residence for the principal. The school premises enjoy a reliable water supply, and the restrooms are outfitted with modern designs for optimal comfort and hygiene. Matron and warden’s quarters are conveniently connected to the girls’ and boys’ hostels, respectively. Notably, the school expanded its infrastructure in 2017 and 2018 with the construction of an additional 180-bed hostel and six more classrooms, funded by the Government of India.
